Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Planner

About the Position: You will serve within the US AFRICA Command (USAFRICOM) Information and Cyber Operations Division (J39). Provide Psychological Operations (PSYOP) subject matter expertise (SME). Coordinate for the employment of PSYOP forces and planning support to AFRICOM and components. Serve as USAFRICOM PSYOP Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) Plans action officer under the supervision of the AFRICOM PSYOP Branch Chief.


  • Provides PSYOP expertise and planning support to USAFRICOM and components.
  • Formulates USAFRICOM PSYOP operational concepts and policy, and reviews USAFRICOM PLANS and CONPLANS for suitability, feasibility, technical accuracy, adequacy, and integration of PSYOP content.
  • Develops and integrates USAFRICOM PSYOP policy on mission, strategy, doctrine, employment, and command and control.
  • Establishes and maintains a synergistic coordination network with USAFRICOM, USASOC, HQDA, and FORSCOM, to ensure integration of PSYOP policy and doctrine.
  • Prepare and present information and decision briefings to the AFRICOM command group requiring development of written analyses, requirements documentation, operational plans, and oral presentations at the executive level.
  • Plans, prepares and reviews point papers, talking papers, and briefings on PSYOP planning, strategy, and assessment matters related to this branch for AFRICOM, as required.
