Senior Operations Coordinator for Manhattan


*ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES*Major Responsibilities- Under direct report to the Chief of Operations, with wide latitude for making independent, high-level decisions in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and programs. - Provide administrative and scheduling support to Chiefs, and Borough Commissioner when needed, be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - Manage complex initiatives and projects, liaising with other divisions, agencies, elected officials, community boards and community-based organizations, service providers and contractors to identify and implement comprehensive solutions to operational challenges. - Supervise data collection and analysis in the Borough, ensuring compliance with agency and citywide guidelines and regulations, and authoring reports for all levels of city government. - Identify emerging issues through data analysis or anecdotally and advise the Chief of Operations. - Working closely with Borough shops and purchasing, identify properties for capital improvements, coordinate infrastructure and facility upgrades, equipment installations and procurement process for special projects. - Responsible for division communications, including correspondence, memos, project scopes and summaries, status updates and disseminating information to borough personnel.- Proactively improve business practices by identifying new technologies or processes.- Provide technical and administrative support to borough managers and supervisors, including the administration of Asset Management Parks System, Bi-weekly Time Schedule and other databases and systems.- Coordinate with ITT regularly on permissions, orders, repairs, and rollouts of new technologies and Infrastructure.- Provide outstanding customer service to public in person, via email and on the phone, and coordinate resolutions to issues requiring immediate attention with borough managers and supervisors. - Oversee records management for borough, liaising with legal division on law claims and other matters.- Coordinate emergency preparedness documents and procedures for Borough. - Act as a central point of contact for Manhattan operations, both internally and externally, with the ability to process a continual and at times heavy flow of information passing through the Borough office.How to Apply: Go to cityjobs.nyc.gov and search for Job ID# 785285.All applicants must apply via cityjobs.nyc.gov. Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above. Experienced (non-manager)
